Privacy and Personal Data Processing Policy

This policy is adopted in compliance with Statutory Law 1581 of 2012, Decree 1377 of 2013 (compiled in Decree 1074 of 2015) and other Colombian regulations on personal data protection.

1. Data controller

Edwin Ortiz Herazo, an individual domiciled in Barranquilla, Atlántico, Colombia, responsible for the website www.edwinortiz.net. Contact channel: the form on this site's contact page.

2. Data collected

Purchases: name, email address, identity document number (optional, for invoicing) and phone number (optional).
Newsletter and waiting list: email address, language and the form you subscribed from.
Contact: name, email address and the message you send.
Browsing: IP address and technical data needed for the site's security. If you accept analytics cookies, aggregated usage data through Google Analytics.

Payment data (cards, bank accounts) is collected directly by Mercado Pago, Wompi or PayPal; this site does not store it.

3. Purposes

Processing your orders, delivering the files you buy and sending you emails related to your purchase.
Giving you access to “My account” through single-use links sent to your email.
Sending you the newsletter with new tutorials, tools and products, only if you subscribed and confirmed.
Letting you know when a product on the waiting list becomes available.
Answering your messages and support requests.
Complying with legal and accounting obligations, and preventing fraud and abuse.

4. Rights of the data subject

As the data subject, you have the right to: know, update and rectify your data; request proof of the authorization you granted; be informed about how your data has been used; file complaints with the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio) for violations of the law; revoke the authorization or request the deletion of your data when there is no legal or contractual duty to keep it; and access your data free of charge.

5. How to exercise your rights

Send your request from the contact page, stating your name, the email address you registered with and what you are requesting. Inquiries are answered within a maximum of ten (10) business days, extendable by five (5) additional business days; complaints, within a maximum of fifteen (15) business days, extendable by eight (8) additional business days, in accordance with Articles 14 and 15 of Law 1581 of 2012. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link included in every email.

6. Processors and transfers

To run the site, providers are used that may process data on behalf of the controller, some of them outside Colombia: the web hosting provider, the email delivery service, the payment gateways (Mercado Pago, Wompi and PayPal) and, if you accept them, Google Analytics and Google AdSense. These providers have their own data protection policies.

7. Data of minors

The site is not aimed at minors. Purchases and subscriptions must be made by adults.

8. Security and retention

Data is protected with encrypted connections, restricted access and backups. It is kept for as long as the relationship lasts and for the time required by legal and accounting obligations.

9. Effective date

This policy is effective from its publication. Any substantial change will be announced on this page.
