I'm Edwin Ortiz Herazo, a math and technology teacher in Barranquilla, Colombia. I have spent more than twenty years in the classroom and in adult education, teaching everything from basic computer skills to automation with Excel.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Physics (Licenciado en Matemáticas y Física).
  • Master's in Systems Engineering.
  • Master's in Education.

What you'll find here

I started this site to share what I teach in class and what I solve in my day-to-day work: how to automate repetitive office tasks with Excel and Word, how to use artificial intelligence and technology in the classroom without losing pedagogical judgment, and how to prepare methodically for Colombia's Teacher Merit Exam (Concurso Docente).

I write for three kinds of readers: people who work in offices and want to stop doing by hand what Excel can do on its own, teachers looking for practical resources, and candidates for the Teacher Merit Exam in Colombia.

How the site is funded

The tutorials are free. The site is funded by selling templates and tools that put into practice what I explain in the articles, and by ads on some articles. If a template saves you time, buying it is the best way to support this work.
